Sights That Are Unique To Maui
Unique Maui Sights
Step away from the main beaches and the usual hustle and bustle of Maui’s
busy Lahaina and one can find some very unique locations in Maui
to tickle the imagination and light the senses. Some of the more
pristine locations require a local’s help to get to, which means
that the tourists who find these places should leave them as they
were found. Otherwise it becomes a local’s inclination to have sudden
memory losses when directions are asked.
Charley Young Beach is one of the more pristine and nearly private locations in Maui. Located on the south side of the island, this is one of those picturesque wedding locales that we conjure up in our minds. With grassy overlooks, soft white sand that gently draws you to the blue waters, and the dramatic rock formations created by lava flows, this is one of those must see sights of tranquil beauty. This three acre landscape haven hangs at the north end of the Kamaole I Beach Park.
Inside the Ahihi Kina’u Natural Area Reserve, one will find
La Perouse Bay. While devoid of most vegetation, the stark and beautiful
contrast of the lava rock formations against the white sands and
sea makes for a photographer’s dream and is worth the trip. There
are very few natural settings in the world that can conjure up one’s
imagination as this, and very few settings in the world that can
captivate one just by being. La Perouse Bay is definitely on the
top ten places to see in Maui.
South Maui is a perfect vacation spot for those who are looking for something outside the realm of normal Haiwaiian tourism. Loaded with floral gardens, vacation condos, and a quieter and more peaceful selection than the more populated north side of the island, more tourist come here to enjoy Maui for a quiet vacation away from everyday life.
Maui’s annual temperature is basically beautiful. The summer average rainfall can be as low as 4/10 of an inch while winter’s rainfall averages closer to 2 to 4 inches. Temperatures remain in the 80s in winter and high 80s to 90s throughout the summer season. Maui doesn’t have a spring or fall. Maui’s steady climate makes it a phenomenal getaway for any time of the year, offering water sports enthusiasts the most spectacular backdrop while offering those with golfing interests 20 of the world’s better golf courses.
There is something for everyone in Maui, and the sites vary from
spectacular natural settings to creatures that can’t be readily
seen anywhere else. Dolphin swimming, which is a must for any dolphin
lover, and snorkeling amongst the endangered sea turtles creates
spectacular events for all ages. While in Maui, every tourist
should pick their passion and explore it to the fullest. The flora,
fauna, water wonderlands, and night life create a passionate and
intoxicating love affair with Maui.
