Unique Sights To see On Kauai
There are several unique sites to see while you are on vacation in Kauai. While in Kauai you must visit the Kilauea Lighthouse and sea bird sanctuary.
Let's start on the North Shore. If you're visiting the North Shore of Kauai, then you will need to check out the Napali Coast State Park. Travellers throughout the world visit here and are always awestruck with an amazing picture perfect landscape. The terrain that has hardly changed in centuries offers green valleys and crystal clear white sand beaches that cover the coastline.
Next, we will take a look at the East Side. You may shop the time away at Kinipopo Shopping Village. If you are looking for a more relaxing scene, then you will have to check out the Coconut Coast. You will be able to see the Wailua River where it meets the ocean. It's easy to get here as well, just head north from Highway 56.
I also suggest that you take a look at Opaekaa Falls on the way which is only 2 miles up from Kuamoo Road from Highway 56. Signs will point you to the right directions to Opaekaa, or "Rolling Shrimp".
Lihue. Nearby the Kalapaki Beach you will be able to find the Kauai Lagoons Golf Club for a nice round of golf. If you are more of an adrenaline junkie instead, certainly book one of the many available helicopter tours. One of the places that I love the most is the chapel by the sea, which is located near Nawiliwili Harbor.
It's truly a breath taking view. While you are there, be sure to take Highway 56 from Kapaa to Hanamaulu, and follow Maalo road for about 3 miles to check out a place in Hawaiian history at Wailua Falls.
If you are looking for fun, check out the South Shore. You can go scuba diving, the many diving centres on Kauai wo offer diving instruction for new divers. Just off of Poipiu Road is Mahaulepu, and go east on the dirt canefild road to the main road then turn right, you will be able to find some mountain biking to ease your adrenaline needs. Afterwards, take a relaxing trip to Poipu Beach for the opportunity to witness the huge Hawaiian Monk Seals. The waters off of Popupi Beach are crystal clear which is perfect for swimming and surfing.
Please always check the water conditions before entering the water. Kauai is home to the most beautiful beaches in the world, but they can be dangerous and unpredictable. Surf swimming is not for non swimmers.
On the West Side, you will find stunning attractions. Canyon lookouts are everywhere. If just looking isn't enough, then go for a hike! After waking up the next morning, you will need to take a trip to Polihale beach, where you can lay on the beach and watch the sun rise.
Don't fear the weather in Kauai. Although Kauai is lush most rain occurs at night, or any rain that’s in the day time are short and welcome sun showers, most usually followed by a glorious rainbow.
