What You Must Know About Lima Before You Consider Going There
Lima is the capital of Peru in South America. It has the Andes mountain range
on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. Lima is a large,
bustling city and there is plenty there to keep you entertained.
Although it is situated in the tropics, the climate of Lima is quite
mild. It hardly ever rains in Lima. Humidity is high and there is
a lot of fog, especially between May and November.
Because of the hills, coasts and valleys, there is no single climate
for Lima. It does depend whereabouts you are. As a general guideline,
in the summer you should expect the average temperature to range
between 78ºF to 83ºF. The southern hemisphere summer is from mid-December
to mid-March. Lima has city beaches and this time of year can be
nice to relax on those.
The winter can be gray and overcast, with temperatures between
54ºF and 59ºF. Winter is June to August and you sometimes get thin,
fine drizzle but never heavy rain. From May to September there will
be low clouds around because of the humidity. Lima is never too
cold or too hot but has a pleasant climate. The ideal months to
visit are March and April because from April until December, the
fog blocks a lot of the sun.
Lima’s Cathedral is very interesting and features a good collection
of historic paintings and wall mosaics. Pachacamac is an archeological
complex of temple-pyramids and palaces. There are various museums
including the National Museum and Gold Museum.

Lima might be noisy and bustling but if you like museums and archeology, good restaurants and nightlife, it is a very interesting place to visit. People from Lima are warm and friendly and will do their best to make sure your stay is a good one.
