Traveling To Thailand
Pattaya, Thailand
About two hours east of Bangkok lies one of the most popular adult vacation destinations in Asia. Pattaya was once frequented by American soldiers taking leaves during the Vietnam War. These troops would spend their days on Pattaya’s sandy shores enjoying beer, massages, and beautiful women.
Today, Pattaya is an international beach resort with luxurious accommodations and the region still upholds its legacy of being one of the greatest adult playgrounds in the world. While there are some family oriented attractions in Pattaya, nearby Jomtien is much nicer for those with children to avoid some sensitive discussions that may arise.
The beaches in Pattaya are not well suited for swimming. Advancement and rapid growth in the area has led to pollution and contaminants in the water, but there are still vendors up and down the coast selling snacks and renting water equipment for affordable prices. Visitors can enjoy all sorts of water sports, including boating, jet skis, and snorkeling.
The year round tropical climate of Pattaya makes it a great place to soak up the sun during any season. The average temperature in Pattaya is about 28°C. October through February are the cooler months, with temperatures around 25°C. Summer typically lasts from March until May with an average temperature of a balmy 30°C, and the rainy season starts in June and lasts until September.
While Pattaya is known as the adult entertainment capital, there are a number
of popular attractions that are not necessarily adult oriented.
One favorite is the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum in the Royal
Garden Plaza. This one of a kind exhibit features over 300
unusual displays, including an intensive sound and light show and
the Infinity Maze.

Pattaya is world renowned for its vibrant, sexy nightlife. There are clubs, bars, and discos for every taste and interest, some staying open well past the mandatory 1 AM closing time. Go-go bars are abundant or visitors can meet up with a bar girl at one if the many open bars. These bar girls serve the drinks, but are available to accompany guests to nearby hotels for a small bar fee when they desire their company.
Thailand is a relatively open and tolerant nation, but there are a few customs visitors should keep in mind while in Pattaya. Locals consider it offensive to be touched on their heads, and it is also rude to point your foot toward another person. Public displays of affection are not tolerated, so it is important to keep this sort of behavior behind closed doors. Beware of unauthorized travel guides or transportation because there are a number of scams geared toward tourists.
