Traveling To Paphos, Cyprus
Paphos, Cyprus
Paphos is a small town on the Mediterranean Sea and is the capital
of the western region of Cypress. It is a quite popular tourist
destination because of its wide array of attractions and activities.
The coastal area of Paphos offers relaxing resorts on the beautiful
beaches, while the inland town is rich in history with all sorts
of archeological ruins and artifacts.
The airport is located just outside of town and taxi services are
available around the city. Private taxis are available, as
well as carrier taxis shared by several fares. Within the
town and around the beach, most restaurants, shops, and other attractions
are within walking distance. There are buses available to
travel between town and the beach or visitors can hire a car or
motorcycle for more travel freedom.
Summer is the most popular time for travelers to visit Paphos.
The weather is warm and dry, perfect for enjoying the beach and
taking in the sights. July, August, and September see highs
around 30°C (86F) and almost no rain or humidity. Winters
are mild with temperatures around 15°C (53F), but these months are
the rainy season so most visitors avoid the area. Spring and
fall are a great time to visit Paphos because the city is much less
crowded and the temperature is still pleasant enough to visit the
beach.
Coral Bay is just north of Paphos and offers a beautiful beach
resort area with calm, clear waters and a variety of water equipment
for hire. The white sand is great for sunbathing and there
are a variety of bars and cafes along the beach.

palaces, now visitors can see the remains located near St. Paul’s
Pillar where St. Paul was said to have been beaten by the governor
Paphos.
The underground Tombs of the Kings is another sight visitors don’t

there are also nearby nature reserves for hiking and animal watching.

even honey along the streets of the old town area. Restaurants
serve all types of food, including all day breakfasts, Thai food,
and chains like Pizza Hut. Local cuisine, like grilled halloumi,

town.

Street, formally named Agiou Antoniou, is lined with sports bars,
lively discos, cafes, and karaoke clubs. Traditional Cypriot
music is often performed in the area hotels and many of the bars
